    1. I've trashed the article draft—it was shit. I've had a better idea instead because some of the stuff that’s shared in this thread is mind-blowingly good. piccalilli_/1145034147804700672

For those that are interested the exec summary of the article is this: Turns out, I'm really prone to burnout and I suffered it _really_ bad in 2016 and then made it worse by getting a shit job at a shit agency. I got incredibly close to leaving the industry all-together.

Fast forward to working on boilerform.design and watching it _explode_ snapped me out of it and created this super positive momentum which is still going now. I make little projects because they give me a quick win when I'm face-deep in massive, burnout-inducing projects.

I do understand that I am hugely privileged that I can make the time to build even a single side-project, but it's also down to organisation and making the most of the spare time I do get.

I know that the benefits are well worth it, so I make side-projects proper-projects by scheduling them into to my working day, just like I do with client work. Making them "real" is me proactively treating my own burnout on the daily.

All of this is the main reason why I keep gushing about how much I love freelancing again.

I wanted to see what other people were saying about side projects to see if someone confirmed or denied what side projects do for me. Turns out, y'all are talented as fuck, so I'm gonna find a way of showcasing that, with, yep: another side project.
