This attendance policy is hell. What a horrendous human being this lecturer is In my short stint of guest lecturing the culture was simple: no questions asked. If you didn’t attend, it’s all good because the slides online. Absence and early leaving were never even acknowledged! mollyemakeup/1216853727866425345

I honestly hated being involved in a traditional education institution. It was full of pricks like this who, thanks to their fragile egos could prevent someone from achieving their degree. The taught material was often unbelievable sub-standard too.

I would absolutely never recommend that anyone goes to university to learn web design or development. I’d even stretch to say a lot of computer science subjects are better taught by industry professionals—not lecturers in university.

Especially in the UK, paying around £9k PER YEAR is daylight robbery. I’m not 100% sold on bootcamps, but let me tell ya, one of those is much better value that paying a minimum of £27k to get a degree. So often, when you graduate, you’re already several years out of date.

Anyway, if you’re at university and reading this, I’m sorry. Our country’s education system is wired up to push you into it. If you can get out: do it—especially if you're doing web related studies.
