    jegtnes I'd say your case isn't a mainstream case, though, where the U.K. education system is still orientated to being "you must get a degree". I understand it's been very beneficial for your case, but on the flip side, many students leave uni on minimum wage and large debt.

      jegtnes The point is informed choice. Instead of "you must go to uni", it should be "a degree can be very beneficial for X, Y and Z". Obviously certain fields require one, but I'm only speaking of the industry I actually have knowledge about.
