      1. this stamp duty thing then: does it cascade upwards, so 500k+ pay less? it's a great scheme for sure, but only if it supports areas of the country that are waaaay overpriced (hello london) too

      looks like anything over 500k will be affected too, so say your purchase price is 550k: you will pay 5% of 5k: gov.uk/guidance/stamp-duty-land-tax-temporary-reduced-rates This could be huge for a lot of people because stamp duty is fucking expensive
